Fire Salamander (Salamandra salamandra), garden, Moulismes; sometimes found by up-turning stones or logs in damp woodland, this one appeared in the cellar after heavy rain

Edible Frog (Rana kl. esculenta)

Edible Frog (Rana kl. esculenta), Moulismes; a hybridogenetic form originating from crosses between Marsh and Pool Frogs, it is the water frog of the region; Marsh Frog is an introduction, rare and very localised both here and in the Brenne. Pool Frog occurs apparently on 2% surface area of the département Indre, including the Brenne. Very variable in both colour and size, with habitat preference as Marsh and Pool Frogs
